On Monday, 11th March 2013, the Hellenic History Foundation officially launched - under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and UNESCO - the two history documentaries co-produced by IDISME & ERT, entitled:
"IMVROS - TENEDOS: A TALE OF MEMORIES"
At the event, the art exhibition of Pavlos Habidis - with aquarelle paintings of Imvros and Tenedos islands - took place at the Theatre's Gallery.
Friends of the Foundation from all over Greece, (including from Orestiada, Patras, Rhodes, Drama, Karditsa, Volos and Thessaloniki) as well as from Istanbul flooded the hall of the Athens College Theatre.
The event attracted over 2500 people, prompting the General Secretary of the Foundation - Dr. Irini Sarioglou – to suggest that the next IDISME event should be held at the Olympic Stadium ...
Special guests included representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronimos, the Minister of Culture, the General Army Staff, the War Museum and several foundations and organizations.
The event was moderated by the producer of ERT Mrs Zelia Stavrou, who also read the message sent by the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The Contemporary Music Orchestra of ERT under the direction of pianist, Mr. George Papachristoudis, performed songs of the doucumentaries' soundtrack.
Maria Konstandopoulou welcomed the distinguished guests on behalf of IDISME.
Panteion University Professor Angelos Syrigos with his well-known rhetorical skills gave a short speech on the moving history of Imvros and Tenedos islands.
